Tour Overview
The 5-Day Marangu Route is the shortest and one of the most popular routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Often referred to as the "Coca-Cola Route," it is the only route on the mountain that offers accommodation in mountain huts rather than tents, providing climbers with added comfort throughout the trek.
Approaching Kilimanjaro from the southeastern side, the route passes through diverse ecological zones, including lush rainforest, heath and moorland, alpine desert, and the arctic summit zone before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
The 5-Day Marangu Route is ideal for climbers seeking a shorter Kilimanjaro adventure with comfortable hut accommodation. While the route has a steeper acclimatization profile than longer itineraries, it remains a popular choice for trekkers with limited time.
