Tour Overview

The 7-Day Shira Route is one of the most scenic and rewarding routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Approaching the mountain from the western side, the route begins on the high-altitude Shira Plateau and traverses a variety of landscapes including heath and moorland, alpine desert, and the arctic summit zone.
The additional day included in the 7-day itinerary provides improved acclimatization compared to the shorter 6-day itinerary, significantly increasing summit success rates and allowing climbers to enjoy a more comfortable ascent. The route follows a similar path to the Lemosho Route after crossing the Shira Plateau and is renowned for its breathtaking views, dramatic volcanic formations, and spectacular summit scenery.
Perfect for climbers seeking a less crowded route with excellent scenery and a strong chance of reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
