Mount Meru Trekking

Mount Meru (4,566 m)

3 Day Mount Meru Trekking

Experience one of Tanzania's most rewarding trekking adventures with Kili Legends & Safaris. Standing at 4,566 metres (14,980 feet), Mount Meru is Tanzania's second-highest mountain and the fifth-highest peak in Africa. Located within Arusha National Park, the mountain offers breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear mornings.
Mount Meru is often considered the perfect acclimatization climb before attempting Mount Kilimanjaro, but it is also an outstanding trekking destination in its own right. The route passes through lush montane forests, giant heather zones, alpine moorlands, and dramatic volcanic landscapes before reaching the summit at Socialist Peak.
Unlike Kilimanjaro, trekking Mount Meru includes an armed park ranger who accompanies climbers through the lower forest, where wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, antelopes, colobus monkeys, and numerous bird species are commonly seen.
Whether you are preparing for Kilimanjaro or simply looking for an unforgettable mountain adventure, Mount Meru offers an exceptional trekking experience with fewer crowds and stunning natural beauty.
